Restaurant Roundup: What's New, What Has Changed

As happens every year, a game of restaurant musical chairs has been playing out right before the official start to the summer season. Here’s the latest scorecard.

East Hampton

Hillstone Restaurant Group, which owns the Houston’s restaurant chain and the Palm Beach Grill, purchased Della Femina. The new eatery, which will serve dinner only, has been renamed the

East Hampton Grill

and is expected to open this weekend. Reservations will be taken starting June 1. 329-6666.

The former Prime 103 and JL East has been renamed

Beachhouse

. The new spot, which opened in April, has a menu loaded with steakhouse favorites and local seafood items, as well as other selections. The restaurant is serving lunch and dinner seven days a week, as well as brunch on Saturday and Sunday. There is a patio for outdoor dining. 604-5600.

Japanese restaurant

Shiki

has taken over the old Bamboo spot and is open seven days a week for lunch and dinner. 329-9821.

Spring Close

, helmed by Colin Keilor and partner Michael Lomansey, has opened at the former Laundry. The menu is continental American and lunch and dinner are being served seven days a week. There is a back patio for alfresco dining. 324-3444.

Harbor Grill

, which serves casual American burgers, sandwiches and seafood, opened in October 2010 in the old Fiddlers Cove space. Owned by Patrick Glennon and Damien O’Donnell of Harbor Bistro, Harbor Grill is open seven days a week, serving dinner starting at 4 p.m. Lunch will be served starting in June. 604-5290.

Pasquale’s Homemade

serves gourmet Italian dishes for take-out and is owned by Food and Co.’s Eric Miller and managed by chef Pasquale Langella.

Sagaponack

T

he Fairway

restaurant at the Poxabogue Golf Course, which closed last year, will have another shot under Dan Murray, who was just given the lease. The hot breakfast and lunch spot is expected to reopen in the next few months. 537-7195.

Bridgehampton

S

outh Fork Kitchen

on the Bridgehampton/Sag Harbor Turnpike opened last year. Michelin Star Chef Joe Isidori creates elegant, rustic sustainable seafood, local bounty and seasonal fare. 537-4700.

Eric Lemonides’ and Jason Weiner’s

Almond

French bistro has reopened in the former One Ocean space. 537-8885.

A sign has been erected and workers are busy at the former Almond, which, according to the sign out front will be named

Agave Bar & Mexican Grill

. Expectations are that the Mexican-themed restaurant will be open close to Memorial Day weekend. Eat, drink and watch sports at this affordable bar and grill. 526-4669 | agavethehamptons.com.

M and E

restaurant on the Bridgehampton/Sag Harbor Turnpike has reinvented itself with a seafood and grill-styled menu, prepared by chef Eddie Thretipthuangsin. BYOB. Open daily for lunch and dinner at 11:30 a.m. 537-1115.

age at 63 Main

has opened in the former Blue Sky and Spinnaker’s spot on Main Street. The new restaurant by Jerry Wawryk serves eclectic Mediterranean-type cuisine with a focus on natural, local, healthy and organic dishes. 725-1810.

Back Page Cafe

, a new breakfast and lunch spot, has opened behind the new Page at 63 Main. The cafe, which is open every day at 8 a.m., features local vegetables from sustainable farms of the East End. This eco-friendly sit-down cafe also offers smoothies, green juices, and meals on the go. 725-1810.

LT Burger

, by famed chef Laurent Tourondel, opened in August and has earned a reputation for delivering the goods when it comes to burgers and milk shakes. 899-4646 | ltburger.com.

La Maison has closed but a sign is up for

Pomme Café

. New owner Alex Stavrinoudis plans to open the new bistro by Memorial Day. The restaurant will serve the French fare similar to its sister cafe in Astoria and will be open seven days starting for brunch, lunch and dinner. 899-4609 | pommecafeny.com.

Water Mill

plans to open up in June in The Water Mill Shoppes between Muse and Foody’s.

Southampton

O

utEast Cafe

has opened in what was once Regulars Music Cafe. Breakfast will be served all day, plus burgers, sandwiches, and a slew of vegetarian-friendly items. Open six days a week from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., closed on Tuesdays 259-2998 | OutEastNY.com.

Southampton Social Club

, located in the former Madame Tong’s Redux, is expected to open this weekend. This American restaurant is from Ian Duke, who also owned Madame Tongs. Chef Matt Creason will run the kitchen, open for brunch Sundays 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Open for dinner Wednesday to Saturday 5 p.m. until midnight. 287-1400.

Derek and Daniel Koch, the brothers behind the Day & Night brunches, are said to be bringing the parties to the Polish House event space.

Tutto Il Giorno

(based in Sag Harbor) will open a second branch in Southampton. This sister restaurant, owned by Gabby Karan and Maurizio Marfoglia, will have more space and will serve up Italian fare similar to the original. 725-7009.

Nobu at the Beach

is expected to open up at the Capri Hotel where the Pink Elephant once was. Word on the street is that Steven Kamali has teamed up with world-renowned chef Nobu Matsuhisa on this one, though the deal is not yet done.

Little Red

, the newest venture by red/bar brasserie restaurateurs David Loewenberg and Kirk Basnight will open year-round starting mid-June in the former Featherstones location. The restaurant will be modeled after the great European cafes, and will serve a New American and wine-friendly menu. 283-3309 | littleredsouthampton.com.

The nightclub

South Pointe

will open Memorial Day weekend in the former Tavern and RdV East space. The club will be run by nightlife impresarios Jonathan Schwartz, Ben Greiff and David Marino. Open Saturdays from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. (212) 255-1933 | southpointeny.com.

Hampton Bays

umba Rum Bar

opened last summer. The Canoe Place Road restaurant, owned by Chef David Hersh and his wife, Rachel Hersh, serves “island-inspired cuisine.” 594-3544 | rumbarumbar.com.

TR Restaurant & Bar

has opened at the old Before the Bridge restaurant space and is helmed by Tom Rutyna. The restaurant is open for dinner seven days a week and the menu includes creative and classic Hamptonian seafood from local purveyors and fishermen. 728-8700.

Katrinka’s Deli

has changed hands and is now owned by Al Fabricatore. He has added a counter with stools and tables. 728-1441.

Shuckers Lobster & Clam Bar

on Foster Avenue is open and will serve seafood and fresh selections prepared by chef Brian Mazzio for the whole family. 723-3178.

East Quogue

L

a Lanterna

restaurant has reopened in the former Thunder Jacksons. The menu will is seafood-based. Look for mussels, clams and lobsters. Patio seating is available.

Quogue

eth’s Cafe

opened last August and serves seasonal food for breakfast and lunch. Open Thursday to Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and seven days a week starting in June. 653-0222.

Westhampton Beach

MiCole’s, though under the same ownership, has been renamed

Jonesey’s Restaurant

Oceanbleu, formerly a catering-only facility located at Westhampton Bath and Tennis Restaurant, will operate as
