Southampton Hot Spot Union Burger Bar Celebrates First Anniversary

After a full year of operation, Union Burger Bar has been deemed a “smashing success” by its owners, who look to continue that success throughout the winter and for the rest of the new year. Union Burger Bar sits adjacent to its contemporary Mexican sister restaurant, the award-winning Union Cantina at 40 Bowden Square in Southampton, and offers an assortment of specialty gourmet burgers, fresh hand-cut fries, “maniacal” milkshakes and desserts and an elaborate craft beer and small batch bourbon selection.

Restaurateur and owner Ian Duke with award-winning executive chef Scott Kampf are excited to continue bringing these culinary offerings to the year-round dining staple of Southampton.

Just like Union Cantina, Union Burger Bar offers specials throughout the week, including tap beer and appetizer specials on Mondays and Tuesdays; Wednesdays famous $5 Burger Night (starting at 6 p.m.); Thursdays burger and a beer special (starting at 6 p.m.); Sundays half-price classic milkshakes (2 to 6 p.m.) and $5 kids meal with purchase of an adult burger; Weekday specials $10.95 lunch which includes a 5 oz American cheeseburger with side of fries or salad (Monday to Friday, 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. As with Union Cantina, Union Burger Bar has Happy Hour with $6 beers, $8 wines, and $10 cocktails on weekdays!

The Burger Bar menu is rich in variety and slathered with flavor. Well-regarded for its fresh Colorado beef burgers that also are hormone, antibiotic and additive free, the burger bar is dedicated to environmental sustainability. Specials include the Coopers Beach 8 oz black Angus beef burger with avocado, bean sprouts, pineapple marmalade, lettuce, tomato on a multi-grain bun; the Black & Bleu 8 oz black Angus beef burger with bleu cheese, applewood bacon, lettuce, tomato, caramelized walnut crumble on a brioche bun; and the Mac Attack! 8 oz black Angus beef burger with homemade mac & cheese, onion hay, on a pretzel bun.

The restaurant also offers a selection of sides and salads, including Kampf’s award-winning chili topped with onions and melted cheddar; Truffle fries topped with parmesan cheese; and health nut salad with romaine and kale mix, hearts of palm, sweet corn, heirloom tomato, avocado, toasted pumpkin seeds, oregano lime vinaigrette. On the shakes menu, diners can enjoy dessert-like drinks such as the Big Blue Bunny shake with rainbow sprinkle frosted rim, vanilla milkshake, topped with a Blue Bunny ice cream cone, whipped cream, more sprinkles and a cherry; the Not Sorry shake with Nutella, Reece’s pieces frosted rim, peanut butter milkshake, whipped cream, and Reece’s peanut butter cups; and the boozy Strawberry Shortcake shake with strawberry milkshake, pinnacle strawberry vodka, fresh strawberries, whipped cream.
