AIA Peconic Emerging Professionals Committee To Host Sketch Tour of Southampton Village

The Emerging Professionals Committee of AIA Peconic, the East End’s chapter of the American Institute of Architects, will host an architectural sketching tour of Southampton Village on Wednesday, May 22, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. It was moved a week due to rain in the forecast for May 15.

Admission is free and open to both members of AIA Peconic and nonmembers, and to both architects and other creative people. Attendees are encouraged to bring a sketchbook and pencil while enjoying “good company and compelling architecture.”

Visit aiapeconic.org/calendar.php to register for free, and then convene at the start time on the steps of the Southampton Arts Center at 25 Jobs Lane.

Suffolk County Executive Ed Romaine announced that the Suffolk County Veterans Emergency Assistance Commission is now accepting applications from veterans in need of home heating assistance. Consideration is given to all home heating options and to minor home heating system repairs. “With all the pressures facing our heroic veterans, staying warm at night should not be one of their concerns,” Romaine said. AIA Peconic Awards Deadline Is January 31

The deadline to register for AIA Peconic’s 2025 Daniel J. Rowen Design Awards is Friday, January 31.
