AIA scholarship opportunities

AIA Peconic, the Chapter of the American Institute of Architects for the East End, is now seeking applications for two grants, a financial aid scholarship and a merit scholarship, to be awarded in 2010.

The financial aid scholarship, up to $4,500, is open to any undergraduate or graduate student about to start or currently enrolled in an accredited school of architecture. The student must have graduated from a high school in one of the five East End towns.

The $3,000 merit scholarship is also open to any undergraduate or graduate student currently enrolled in an accredited school of architecture, but the student must have completed at least one year. For this award, the student also must have graduated from a high school in any of the five towns.

The application deadline for both awards is May 17. The notifications will be send on June 4.
