The Garden Club of Shelter Island will host the 13th annual Daffodil Show at the Ram’s Head Inn on Shelter Island on Saturday, April 20, from 2 to 5 p.m. The theme of this year’s show will be “Our Sheltered Hills of Daffodils.”

Founded by the late Alice Fiske of Sylvester Manor, this annual judged show is under the auspices of the American Daffodil Society. The yearly event features hundreds of daffodils on display in horticulture and 12 classes of design, including a youth division.

This year, commercial displays by Shelter Island Florist, Sag Harbor Florist, Ivy League Florist of Southold and Kim Jon of Southampton will be on view. Vendors will also be participating and the event will include raffles and prizes. Afternoon tea will be served with assorted sweets and savories. Tickets are $25 at the door.

Those wishing to enter the competition should bring their daffodils to the Ram’s Head Inn on Friday, April 19, from 2 to 6 p.m. For additional information, contact event chair Sandy Baxter at 749-0229 or sandralee7541@gmail.com. For additional information, visit shelter-island.org/garden_club.
