The inaugural East Hampton Art & Design Days, running July 11 to 13, will present a lecture series at Guild Hall on Sunday, July 13, featuring interior designers and landscape designers in conversation.
The day will begin with a book-signing hour, followed at noon by Aerin Lauder in conversation with David Netto about her new book, “Living With Flowers,” which explores the role of florals in “interior design, inspired living, and timeless style.”
“Designing Iconic Interiors and Architecture” begins at 1:15 p.m., with panelists Brian Sawyer, David Kleinberg and Victoria Hagan moderated by Jacqueline Terrebonne of Galerie. The designers will discuss the evolution and lasting impact of interior and architectural design.
“From Concept to Creation: Designing Legendary Gardens” at 2:15 p.m. concludes the program. Panelists Ed Hollander, Fernando Wong and Perry Guillot will offer a behind-the-scenes look at crafting remarkable landscapes that seamlessly merge design and nature. Clinton Smith of Cottages & Gardens will moderate.
Admission to East Hampton Design Days: Lecture Series on Sunday, July 13, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. is $150. Visit guildhall.org for details.
East Hampton Art & Design Days also includes Breakfast & Books, a book-signing event at Serena & Lily Hamptons Design Shop, 332 Montauk Highway, Wainscott, on Friday, July 11, from 9 to 11 a.m.
Participating authors and/or photographers are Brittany Bromley, Blue Carreon, Chad Dorsey, Caroline Gidiere, Cathy Kincaid, Jaime Lopez, Coco Myers, Marcus Mohon, Kyle Hoepner, Alex Papachristidis, Jonathan Savage and Beth Webb. The event is open to the public.
Also on Friday, July 11, ticketed, private tours of artist studios, gardens and houses are offered. Fairfax Dorn’s house and garden, Ross Bleckner’s private studio, “Funhouse Farm” by Hollander Design, gardens by Oehme, van Sweden & Associates at an Amagansett residence, a Georgica residence designed by Cathy Kincaid Interiors, and a Georgica landscape by Perry Guillot Inc. will welcome guests.
More ticketed excursions and experiences are planned on Saturday, July 12, including mimosas at the artists studio of Mia Fonssagrives Solow, a private tour of Michael Derrig’s garden and exhibition of David Harber sculpture at Landscape Details, rosé at Madoo Gardens in Sagaponack, and a master class in shopping with designer and antiques expert Alex Papachristidis at Mulford Farm.
