The third annual Peconic Land Trust four-part lecture series kicks off on Sunday, March 4, at Bridge Gardens in Bridgehampton with a talk by Vincent Simeone.

Mr. Simeone, the director of Planting Fields Arboretum, is a published author of four horticultural books and numerous gardening articles. He will discuss “Creating a Sustainable Landscape,” focusing on specific ways to create a more sustainable environment, including recycling, habitat management, managing invasive species, composting and proper plant selection.

On Sunday, March 18, Duncan Brine will continue the series by discussing “Naturalistic Whole Property Design.”

On April 1, Scott Medbury, president of the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, will talk about “Green Garden, Green City: Modeling Environmental Sustainability and Stewardship at Brooklyn Botanic Garden.”

The final lecture in the series is planned for April 22. During that talk, Christian Duvernois and Jacob Lange of CD Gardens will discuss “From Versailles to the New York City Rooftop: A Vegetable Garden Odyssey.”

All talks, which are $15 each or free for members, will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. at Bridge Gardens. Space is limited and reservations are strongly suggested.

Opening day at Bridge Gardens is Sunday, April 1. The gardens will be on view that day from noon to 4 p.m. For more information on any program, visit peconiclandtrust.org, call the Peconic Land Trust at 283-3195, ext. 19 or email Events@PeconicLandTrust.org.
