The public was invited to join in the judging on Saturday at LongHouse Reserve in East Hampton, as 19 local artists, designers, gardeners and landscapers created a unique interpretation of a planter. The Official Judge for "PLANTERS: ON + OFF THE GROUND XI" this year was esteemed interior designer and writer David Netto. Guests had the opportunity to cast their vote for the People's Choice Award. LongHouse Garden Committee Chair Deborah Nevins and Event Chair Elizabeth Lear led the 11th edition. RICHARD LEWIN

LongHouse Reserve in East Hampton hosted the 11th edition of its biennial gardening competition, Planters: On+Off the Ground, on Saturday, June 24, bringing together artists, horticulturists, designers, gardeners and landscapers to create their best garden masterpieces that go far beyond a clay pot.

Marders, a nursery and garden center in Bridgehampton, is hosting the Garden Talks series, covering a variety of topics relating to garden maintenance and caring for plants.
