Marders Offers Free Sunday Garden Talks

Marders in Bridgehampton is presenting a series of free garden talks on select Sundays throughout the summer and fall.

Next up is “The Unending Battle — Fighting Pests & Fungus” on July 14. The start time for this talk and all the others is 10 a.m., with an expected event duration of one hour.

On July 21 is “Building a Hummingbird Garden,” and on July 28 is “Planting for a Fabulous Fall Garden.”

After taking the first week of August off, the talks resume on August 11 with “Houseplants: Choosing the Best — Their Care and Maintenance.” On August 25 is “Gardening With Wildflowers.”

Then the talks will continue uninterrupted every Sunday throughout September and October: “What Herbs, Veggies & Flowers You Should Try Planting Now” on September 8, “Talking About Transplants. When Can You Start?” on September 15, “Fall Garden Care” on September 22, “How To Fight Voles & Mole” on September 29, “Making More — How & When to Divide Plants in Your Garden” on October 6, “Not the Usual Suspects — Getting Beyond Tulips, Daffodil & Alliums” on October 13, “How To Overwinter Dahlia Tubers” on October 20 and “Putting the Garden to Bed, Lawn Care & Fall Pruning” on October 27.

No RSVP is required. Marders is located at 120 Snake Hollow Road, Bridgehampton.
