Interior designer Marshall Watson will sign his new book, “Defining Elegance,” and lead a garden discussion at Marders in Bridgehampton on Saturday, September 20, at 3:30 p.m.

Watson is an East Hampton resident and was a longtime interior design columnist for The Southampton Press and The East Hampton Press. He leads the design firm Marshall Watson & Reid Deane Ganes Interiors.

“Defining Elegance” is Watson’s second book and features all-new work from a wide range of environments, revealing how his design principles adapt to different geographies and climates, from a seaside home in Connecticut or to modern renovation of a barn in Napa Valley. In the book, Watson explains how he translates each owner’s lifestyle, the house’s history and the setting into “a highly original form of elegance.”

The book also invites readers into his own homes — his apartment in Manhattan and his light and airy East Hampton retreat featuring his own landscaped gardens.

Marders is located at 120 Snake Hollow Road, Bridgehampton. Admission is free. RSVP to 631-537-3700 or info@marders.com.
