East Hampton Village—A man called the Firestone Gallery on Newtown Lane at 4:25 p.m. on Sunday to make a threat regarding the current exhibit, which shows American flags covered in gold paint, according to East Hampton Village Police. He asked an employee, “Do you guys have glass insurance?” and when she asked why, he told her “The Fourth of July is coming up soon and things can get rowdy around here,” according to police. Patrols will be stepped up in the area, they said.

Montauk—A $2,300 paddleboard was stolen off the roof of a minivan parked overnight outside Salivar’s restaurant on West Lake Drive, which was closed, between June 10 and June 11. The board was yellow with blue stripes and had a black and white camouflage pad, according to East Hampton Town Police.

East Hampton Village—East Hampton Village Police responded to complaints about an asphalt truck parked on the grass in front of a residence on Jones Road at 2:42 p.m. on June 18, a utility trailer parked on the shoulder of Pantigo Road on June 20 at 3:45 p.m., about a delivery truck blocking the driveway of Consumer Tire on Railroad Avenue at 10:26 a.m. last Thursday, about a landscaping vehicle obstructing traffic on Dayton Lane at 1:16 p.m. last Thursday, about a tree limb blocking a portion of Baiting Hollow Road at 12:15 p.m. on Friday and about a possibly abandoned passenger car in front of Hampton Bagels on North Main Street at 4:56 a.m. on Sunday. The car had a note on the windshield that said there was trouble with the battery and that it would be removed, according to police.

East Hampton—Amanda Re, 23, and Fabio Caputi, 43, both of East Hampton, were arrested by East Hampton Town Police at 12:48 a.m. on May 26 after East Hampton Village and Town police responded to a report of a possibly intoxicated person in the road near Cove Hollow. Both of them reportedly confronted police down the driveway to their residence and refused to move on, meanwhile swinging at police officers. Police said Ms. Re scratched one officer in the face and spat at another, also kicking a window in a patrol car and damaging it. She was taken to Southampton Hospital, according to a police report, and issued an appearance ticket, while Mr. Caputi was held overnight. Ms. Re was charged with felony criminal mischief, resisting arrest, a misdemeanor, and second-degree harassment and disorderly conduct, two violations. Mr. Caputi was charged with two misdemeanors, resisting arrest and second-degree obstructing governmental administration.

East Hampton Village—East Hampton Village Police and the East Hampton fire chief responded at 1:43 a.m. on June 18 to a report that smoke detectors were going off at a residence on Conklin Terrace. It turned out that a water pipe had broken, according to police, and the smoke detectors were disconnected.

Montauk—Juan C. Mancilla, 22, of East Hampton was arrested by East Hampton Town Police at 11:12 p.m. on Saturday on Lincoln Road and charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor. Police said they stopped him for an expired registration sticker.

East Hampton Village—East Hampton Village Police responded to a dispute between a Surf Taxi driver and his passengers at 4:50 a.m. on June 18 on Main Street. The passengers reportedly refused to pay the fare from Montauk and could not locate their house, upsetting the driver, but the matter was settled without charges being filed.

East Hampton—William K. Crandall, 25, of Brooklyn was arrested by East Hampton Town Police at 3:01 p.m. on June 16 on Atlantic Street and charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed driving, a misdemeanor, after an accident in which two people in another car were taken to Southampton Hospital by ambulance. Police said the driver of the other car said Mr. Crandall attempted to pass him as he was attempting to make a left turn, striking the front of the other vehicle and making it roll over several times until it came to a rest on its roof. Mr. Crandall told them he thought the other driver was turning right, police said.

East Hampton—A driver missed the height limit sign at a Long Island Railroad trestle on Stephen Hand’s Path at 12:21 p.m. on June 20 and struck it, according to East Hampton Town Police.

East Hampton Village—Two black dogs attacked a small dog on the porch of a house at Egypt Close at 4:45 p.m. on June 19, according to East Hampton Village Police. There had been similar problems with the two dogs in the past, police said, and they were taken into the custody of the East Hampton Animal Control Department. On June 18 at 1:20 p.m., a white husky that had been running loose on Dunemere Lane was taken to the East Hampton Veterinary Group by a town animal control officer.

Amagansett—Justina E. Tibbetts, 23, of Amagansett was arrested by East Hampton Town Police at 5:15 p.m. on May 28 and charged with criminal mischief, a misdemeanor. Police said she threw a plastic cup at a vehicle that day on Abrams Landing Road, damaging the trunk, then left the scene and turned herself in later.

East Hampton Village—East Hampton Village Police were called to Old Beach Lane at 2:39 p.m. on June 20 in response to a report that a man may have been masturbating in a car in the parking lot at Egypt Beach. The man told police that he had been reading the newspaper and filing his nails, and police advised him to file them in public view so as not to alarm the public, they said.

Northwest—Four teak lounge chairs worth $2,000 were stolen from a back deck on Bull Path between March 25 and May 25, according to East Hampton Town Police.

East Hampton Village—East Hampton Village Police responded to a report of “harassment at the privy” at Park Place at 1:26 p.m. June 20. One male allegedly repeatedly insulted the other along the lines of sexual orientation, while the other used a racist term and told him to “go back to Riverhead where he belonged.” No charges were filed.

East Hampton Village—A dispute about rent money escalated to the point that one woman took her sister’s phone and iPad at 8:14 p.m. on June 19 on Toilsome Lane, according to East Hampton Village Police. Police persuaded the sisters to separate for the night.

East Hampton Village—A deer was reportedly trapped in a fence on Mill Hill Lane at 11:52 a.m. on June 20, but East Hampton Village Police officers were unable to locate it.

East Hampton Village—East Hampton Village Police found a man sleeping on the ground at the train station on Railroad Avenue at 12:35 p.m. last Thursday. He told them he was waiting for the next train and they told him to wait inside the station, according to a police report.

East Hampton Village—A bay current tracker GPS belonging to Roger Williams University in Bristol, Rhode Island, was discovered at Main Beach at 9 a.m. on June 17, according to East Hampton Village Police. Police said the device is used to track marine currents as it drifts, and that the university was contacted.

East Hampton—East Hampton Town Police charged a 22-year-old East Hampton resident with marijuana possession, a violation, on Miller Lane West at 9:28 p.m. on June 7.

East Hampton Village—Noise complaints were logged on Gingerbread Lane at 5:55 p.m. on Saturday (a leaf blower), at 8:24 p.m. on Saturday on James Lane (a wedding at the Mulford Farm), at 12:15 a.m. on Sunday on Ocean Avenue (a small pool party) and at 4:58 p.m. on Sunday on Jericho and Georgica roads (a pool party). No summonses were issued, according to East Hampton Village Police.

East Hampton Village—The restroom at Two Mile Hollow Beach on Ocean Avenue was tagged with graffiti that said, “Holder and Obama Lying” in black marker, East Hampton Village Police learned through a village employee at 10:49 a.m. on Sunday.

East Hampton Village—A shopping cart damaged a door and shattered a rear passenger window of a car parked behind Sam’s Restaurant on Newtown Lane at 12:46 a.m. on Saturday. East Hampton Village Police said the damage was estimated at $2,000.

Montauk—Santiago Velay, 33, of Bridgehampton was arrested by East Hampton Town Police at 7:23 p.m. on June 17 on Montauk Highway near South Emery Street and charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and using a vehicle without an interlock device, two misdemeanors. Police said he ignored a stop sign on Edgemere Street, then failed to signal a turn onto Montauk Highway.

East Hampton—A trespasser entered a fenced-in yard on Kimball Avenue and put up two outdoor umbrellas and moved patio furniture around between June 10 and June 15, according to East Hampton Town Police. A pool gate was ajar and a motion sensor was dislocated from its mounting bracket, police said.
