In recognition of National Fire Prevention Week, which is recognized from Sunday, October 6, through Saturday, October 12, REVCO Lighting + Electrical Supply in Southampton will donate $1 to local fire departments for every smoke detector sold during the entire month.

The donations will be earmarked to benefit fire departments in Southampton, East Hampton, Riverhead and Southold, according to information provided by REVCO. In a typical month, the company sells approximately 1,200 smoke detectors.

“REVCO is proud to do its part to support our local fire departments and endorse fire safety in our own communities,” REVCO Vice President Michael Velys Sr. said in a written statement.
