Six private gardens around Sag Harbor Village will be open to the public for the Sag Harbor Historical Society Garden Tour on Saturday, June 19.

“Small city gardens, large country gardens, herb gardens and gardens with special species of plants — we think the variety will entertain you and we hope you join us,” the society states.

Docents at each garden will control the flow of guests and maintain social distancing. In addition to the gardens, the tour will include a stop at The Church, April Gornik and Eric Fischl’s new arts center.

In recognition of Juneteenth, the annual celebration of the emancipation of enslaved people in the United States, an insert in the tour’s garden guide notes some of the contributions African Americans have made to the nation’s gardening and farming practices.

The tour runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and begins at the Annie Cooper Boyd House at 174 Main Street, where a map will be provided. Tickets are $60 in advance or $65 on the day of. For ages 7 to 17, the price is $30 in advance or $35 on the day, and children 6 and younger are admitted free. Visit sagharborhistorical.org or call 631-725-5092.
