Last month, the Board of the Suffolk County Water Authority (SCWA) appointed Jeffrey Szabo as the new chief executive officer. He officially took over from retiring CEO Stephen Jones on June 1.
Since July 2009, Mr. Szabo has served as special projects coordinator at the SCWA. He has been involved in every aspect of the Water Authority’s operation and management, including developing and implementing goals and objectives for 2010 designed to make the SCWA more efficient and transparent. Additionally, he crafted the 2010-2011 SCWA budget.
Prior to his position at the Water Authority Mr. Szabo served as Deputy County Executive and Chief of Staff for Suffolk County.
The Suffolk County Water Authority is an independent public-benefit corporation operating by virtue of the Public Authorities Law of the State of New York.
