This summer, the East End landscape is getting a monumental makeover as Hamptons Sculpture Sights, the region’s premier outdoor sculpture exhibition series, introduces two compelling exhibitions spanning Bridgehampton and Southampton.

Bridge Gardens, the beloved horticultural oasis managed by the Peconic Land Trust, welcomes “Uncommon Ground VI,” the sixth edition of a show that thrives on the interplay between the cultivated and the wild. Sculptures emerge from the garden itself, exploring the ever-shifting boundary between human creation and natural form. Works by renowned artists like Norman Mooney — whose polished piece, “Windseed,” captures nature’s symmetry — and Isobel Folb Sokolow — whose fire-welded sculptures echo the chaos of cosmic birth — anchor the exhibition with dynamic energy.

An opening reception for “Uncommon Ground VI” will be held on August 9, from 5 to 7 p.m.

Just a few miles away, the Southampton Arts Center hosts “Organic Abstraction: Contemporary Outdoor Sculpture,” now in its second season. This exhibition leans into form, texture, and process, showcasing internationally recognized artists who wrest meaning from metal, stone, and industrial materials. Pieces by Joel Perlman, Kevin Barrett, and Carole Eisner highlight the tension between control and spontaneity — each sculpture a negotiation between mind, material, and movement.

An opening reception for “Organic Abstraction” will be held on July 12, from 4 to 6 p.m.

Curated by Cheryl Sokolow of C Fine Art, both exhibitions reflect her ongoing mission: to make large-scale, contemporary sculpture a living part of the Hamptons’ cultural fabric. With works installed through Labor Day, these outdoor shows invite visitors to slow down, look up, and reimagine their relationship with the natural world.

Proceeds from artwork sales benefit both nonprofits. Visit the grounds, explore the art, and experience sculpture in its most elemental setting: under open skies.
