A new exhibition at the Springs Library is shining a light on the vibrant creative spirit of the hamlet of Springs in East Hampton. “Springs Women: Small Works at the Library,” curated by local arts advocate Casey Dalene, runs through June 29, and features intimate, small-scale works by ten women artists living and working in Springs.

Known for its storied artistic past — home to such luminaries as Lee Krasner, Miriam Schapiro and Joan Semmel — Springs continues to foster generations of female creatives. This exhibition carries that legacy forward with works no larger than 12 inches by 12 inches, plus a selection of petite sculptures, each offering a personal window into the artist’s world.

Featured artists include Beth Barry, Jessica Dalene, Emma Field, Kym Fulmer, Laurie Hall, Kristy Schopper, Alison Seiffer, Mari Thomas, Sara VanDerBeek, and Lucy Villeneuve — each contributing pieces that range from quietly contemplative landscapes to bold abstract gestures, echoing the diversity and vitality of the East End.

Hosted by the Springs Community Library at One Parsons Place and benefiting the Springs Historical Society, the show is both a tribute and a fundraiser.

Whether you’re a collector, local art lover, or simply seeking creative inspiration, Springs Women is a celebration of the continuing power and presence of female artists in one of the East End’s most storied enclaves.
