Congratulations to the Hampton Bays Middle School! The environmentally friendly educational institution was named a Green Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education. Woo-hoo! Go Baymen!

Frank Luccarelli surprised his wife, Gloria, with a trip to Puerto Rico for their 25th wedding anniversary on April 24. How romantic is that? Here’s to many more beautiful years together.

Erin Gettler will have her collection of photographs on display this month at the Hampton Bays Public Library on Ponquogue Avenue. Her work, “This Familiar Wilderness,” captures the woods in Hampton Bays and elsewhere on the East End. A reception to meet the artist will be held on Saturday, May 5, from 2 until 4 p.m., in the Helen Gould Room.

Hampton Bays Boy Scout Troop 483 is having its annual plant sale this weekend on Saturday, May 5, and Sunday, May 6, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. both days, on the grounds behind the Hampton Bays Firehouse on Good Ground Road. Flats of various annuals in assorted colors, along with a nice selection of hanging baskets and planters, will be available for purchase.

The Hampton Bays Historical and Preservation Society’s Brunch with the History Bunch is this Saturday, May 5, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., at the Hampton Maid restaurant. Tickets are $20 at the door. Come on out for a good cause and some yummy food!

The Performing Arts Parents Association’s Spring Roof Party is also on Saturday, May 5, at Cowfish (formerly Indian Cove). The party starts at 6 p.m. and will include hors d’oeuvres, live music, a 50/50 raffle and a Chinese auction. Proceeds will help fund a new riser for the elementary school, a jazz night/mentorship program for the middle school and a scholarship program for a graduating high school senior.
