TRAFFIC NOTICE -- Due to planned work along Hill Street, traffic in Southampton Village between Halsey Neck Lane and First Neck Lane will be diverted south of the work zone from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day this week, most likely through Friday, May 23. “We’re hoping not to have to close it on Friday, but we wanted to say that we are, in case we run into problems,” Gary Goleski, the Southampton Village superintendant of Public Works, said Tuesday morning. He explained that the road work is due to a drainage project. The village is installing dry wells to prevent flooding and keep storm water from entering Lake Agawam.
