Earlier this summer, David R. Hilty, managing director of global investment bank Houlihan Lokey Howard & Zukin in Manhattan, dropped $12 million on a 6,000-square-foot, shingle-style home at 228 Pond Lane in Southampton.
Up until July 29, the six-bedroom, 8.5-bathroom traditional was owned by Shahrzad Khayami, a Hamptons socialite often photographed with Prince Dimitri of Yugoslavia, though their relationship is unclear.
Built at the turn of the 19th century, the renovated historic home is screened by a border of high hedges and mature trees on more than 2 acres, and framed by plantings, walkways, stone berms and sequestered gardens. The house retains many of its classic period details, including a double-height entry hall and dark wooden floors.
Outside, a Har-Tru tennis court is fenced away from a trellised entertainment patio equipped with a service station. A heated pool is complemented by a pool house with full bath, changing room, kitchenette and outdoor shower.
