A 5,500-square-foot oceanfront home in Amagansett recently sold for $13.5 million.
The residence on 0.76 acre at 249 Marine Boulevard was originally built in 1993, but Telemark Construction performed a thorough update and renovation in 2013.
The six-bedroom, 8.5-bathroom postmodern sits on pilings and maximizes views of the ocean, according to the Corcoran listing.
The living, dining and kitchen areas are open concept with sliding doors to the oceanside deck. A large den off the kitchen has a fireplace and connects to a terrace. The master suite has an office and its own direct deck access. The pool and spa are on the top deck plus a cabana bathroom. The home also boasts a rooftop observation deck.
Also among the amenities are a two-car garage, a full-house generator, 2,000 square feet of outdoor living space, an outdoor shower, a dune deck, and a gas fire pit.
The new owners are Robin Cohen, an insurance litigator, and Kenneth Fischer, a photographer. According to their 1998 wedding announcement in The New York Times, Ms. Cohen was a managing partner in the New York office of Washington law firm Dickstein, Shapiro, Morin & Oshinsky at the time, and Mr. Fischer worked for Evox Productions specializing in 360-degree moving images for internet advertisements.
Ms. Cohen is now a principal of McKool Smith, where she leads the Dallas-based firm’s insurance recovery practice and is a seasoned trial lawyer.
Mr. Fischer’s photographs have graced national magazine covers and large advertising campaigns. His “Nightlight” series uses his unique lighting style and the latest technologies to produce dramatic images of sites such as the Venice Pier, Cleopatra’s Needle and Columbus Circle. The series also includes a number of photographs of Hamptons homes.
The property at 249 Marine Boulevard was last asking $17.9 million. The deal closed March 12. It was listed with Corcoran.
