Douglas Elliman is acquiring the Sagaponack-based real estate company McCoy & McCoy.

Founded by William McCoy, the 46-year-old brokerage has the only real estate office in Sagaponack, whose properties are among the nation’s most expensive.

“It is a terrific opportunity because Douglas Elliman will be the only brokerage in this very special and coveted locale,” said Dottie Herman, president and CEO of Douglas Elliman, in a press release.

Mr. McCoy, a Sagaponack resident, will stay on as an associate broker with Douglas Elliman, and Angela Toscano, now a broker with Douglas Elliman, will remain. Paul Brennan, the firm’s executive manager of sales for the Hamptons as well as its Bridgehampton manager, will head the Sagaponack office but continue to work out of Bridgehampton.

“This acquisition is a strategic win,” Mr. Brennan said in the release. “It’s a smart move and one that was too good to pass up, especially given the office’s location in Sagaponack and Mr. McCoy’s solid reputation.”

“We’re excited to make a go of it,” said Mr. MCoy. “We have the same values—live a good life, help people along the way and get the best returns.”

The five-desk office is on Montauk Highway in Sagaponack.
