Winter doldrums for real estate? Not yet, apparently, as in the past week three double-digit deals in the Hamptons were reported and a fourth, on Whalers Lane in Amagansett, sold for a smidge under $10 million.

Of special interest is a 2-acre property on Wainscott Main Street, which sold for $11,100,000. (The buyer is listed as Dana Zucker, in case you want to say hello.)

One block from the ocean, the custom manor home was designed by the architect James Merrell. There are 5 bedrooms and 6.5 baths in its 6,750 square feet. Amenities include quarter-sewn white oak flooring, hemlock ceilings and cabinetry, walls of glass, a chef’s eat-in kitchen with top-notch appliances, living room with a gas fireplace (overall, there are four fireplaces), an indoor pool, and a gym on the second floor. Outside, there is a heated pool, detached two-car garage, and a deck and patio.

A buyer listed as 158 Quimby Lane Purchaser LLC apparently wants to start from scratch, beginning with the purchase of 4 acres of south-of-the-highway vacant land on that very same lane in Bridgehampton. The cost was $13 million. (You math whizzes have already figured out that is an eye-popping $3,250,000 per acre.) The property, which had been owned by a local family for generations, offers private access to Sagg Pond and, of course, is only a stroll away from the ocean.

The biggest deal reported in the past week was one for $14 million, but it has been reported previously in the pages of The Press. The buyer is the Town of Southampton, and the property listed as 248 Moses Lane is intended to become parkland in the Village of Southampton as opposed to a plan submitted three years ago by a private developer for a subdivision. The purchase money came from the Community Preservation Fund.
