When it comes time to move, Missy Lynch should have plenty of vehicles at her disposal. The owner of the Hampton Jitney transportation system is selling her waterfront estate in Quogue, represented by The Corcoran Group. The ask is $5.75 million.

The property at 32 Penniman Point Road is on 5.2 acres with views of Penniman Creek, as well as the Atlantic Ocean. The 7,025-square-foot residence contains six bedrooms and six baths, three fireplaces, and a large eat-in kitchen with an open floor plan that’s perfect for entertaining. A wraparound porch is easily accessed from any room on the first floor, including the junior master bedroom, guest room, study, double-height living room, dining room, and kitchen. This home also features a one-bedroom guest suite with a private entrance. A lower level spans the entire footprint of the house waiting to be developed. Views of the ocean can be seen from second-floor balconies. Outside, the estate is rounded out with a heated pool surrounded by a privet. Also, dock permits and plans are in place should one decide to build one.

Hampton Jitney buses are a familiar sight in this neck of the woods. Longtime residents may recall that the company was begun by Jim Davidson in 1974 as a small fleet of vans equipped with trailers to shuttle bicycles and passengers between local villages and hamlets. The Lynch family bought Hampton Jitney in the mid-1980s, and full-size buses began to transport people to and from New York City. That decade’s oil crisis was a boon to the company because more people forgoed driving their own cars in favor of using buses. Today, there are dozens of high-end buses that also operate on the North Fork and make trips to New England, plus a limousine service. The bus company’s headquarters are located at Omni in Southampton.
