Compass announced this week that Joseph De Sane has joined its Southampton real estate office as senior managing director of sales.

Mr. De Sane has more than 16 years of real estate experience under his belt. Prior to joining Compass, he was a top performer at Corcoran, where he managed its locations on the North Fork, Shelter Island and Westhampton Beach.

Mr. De Sane has been involved in property development, sales and marketing, which provides an additional layer of expertise to Compass’s young life as a technology-driven real estate operation, according to a press release. Since opening its first East End office in Bridgehampton in October 2015, Compass has added offices in East Hampton, Sag Harbor and, most recently, Southampton Village.

Mr. De Sane is a graduate of Southampton College who has spent many years on the East End. He is also a fixture on the local arts scene as an accomplished actor and painter, the release says.

Compass founder and CEO Robert Reffkin said in a statement how pleased he was to welcome Mr. De Sane to the company, adding, “He possesses a winning combination of infectious charisma, experience … and a drive to create a better real estate experience.”
