The Ross School in East Hampton will offer another semester of Lifelong Learning classes for adults beginning in April at its East Hampton campus. The adult education classes, which the school began offering in 2000, will expand this spring to include daytime course offerings in addition to the continuing evening and summer programs previously offered. A Ross Institute Certificate of Continuing Education will be awarded upon the successful completion of each course.
The school also keeps a record of all courses taken over a “Lifelong Learner’s” time at the school and will issue a transcript upon request. Lifelong Learners may choose a graded or non-graded option for each course upon registration that will be reflected on his or her transcript.
This semester the school will offer programs in the arts, such as Advanced Sculptural/Ceramic Explorations with Ned Smythe and Beginning African Drumming with Ken Sacks. Humanities courses will include Being Human: Montaigne and the Art of the Personal Essay with Mark Foard, History of Photography with Therese Lichtenstein and Psychology II with Ken Sacks. Beginning Chinese in Mandarin will be taught by Ou Wang.
Math and science courses include Natural History of the East End with Greg Drossel and Web 2.0 JavaScript (Advanced Web Building) with Urban Reininger. Personal Development classes will include Find Your Purpose, Live Your Passions, Love Your Life with Christina Loggia and Nutrition with Eileen Weilbacher.
The school will round out its course offering with Wellness and sports classes such as Adult Tennis Clinic, Archery, with Greg Drossel, Ballet with Sheryl Hastalis, and Dance Break and Stretch/Alignment with Jamie Lerner.
