A new construction home in Bridgehampton recently closed with a last asking price of $21 million, according to Douglas Elliman.
On a 1.4 acre-lot at 201 Sagaponack Road, the residence offers southern views over the Bridgehampton Golf Club. The builders are Christopher Peluso and Richard Perrillo, who have been developing homes in the Hamptons separately for over 20 years.
“The style of the home is modern shingle style,” Peluso said. “Given the historic nature of the street, we felt it was important to make the home feel contextual with its neighbors. Blending cedar shakes, modern window walls and minimalist interiors the property has a clean, fresh and timeless look. This home will always look stylish.”
The home is surrounded by mature trees and has 11,200 square feet of living space over three levels, including eight bedrooms, nine full and three half bathrooms, and a great room with a dual-sided white Italian marble fireplace and an 80-foot architectural glass wall. The chef's kitchen has Ciuffo Cabinetry and top-of-the-line appliances including a Wolf range, dual Thermador refrigerators, and two Bosch dishwashers.
A custom floating staircase and an elevator service all three levels. The finished lower level includes a large recreation area, a bar, a full gym, and a multi-level screening room.
In addition to the main house, a 550-square-foot pool house complements a heated gunite 56-foot-by-18-foot pool and spa. An all-weather north-south tennis court, a white stone patio with built-in barbecue and a three-car garage with an electric car charging station round out the amenities.
“Calvin Klein once told me ‘Simplicity is elegance,’ and it is a credo we incorporate into the design of our homes,” Peluso said. “If spaces are overly complicated, they leave people feeling unsettled and uncomfortable. 201 Sagaponack has living spaces that are soothing and reduce stress as soon as you enter them. In addition, the walls of glass and high ceilings are specifically tailored to showcase the buyer’s art collection.”
Paul Brennan and Martha Gundersen represented the sellers, and Michaela Keszler and Paulina Keszler, also of Douglas Elliman, brought the buyer.
“It exudes light and is perfect for exhibiting art, yet has intimate spaces for comfort and conversation,” Gundersen said of the home. “There is plenty of room for guests and entertaining, including a tennis court and a spa in the lower level. All areas were well thought out to really be used and enjoyed. These developers only do one project every few years because they focus on what is important to the buyer and producing something that is high quality and beautiful. We are thrilled for the new owners who recognized this incredible opportunity and can now call this very special property ‘home.’”
Update February 24, 2024: The final sales price was $17 million, according to Suffolk Vision Inc.
