A contemporary home in the Village of North Haven built in 2008 for a prominent New York designer-owner has sold for $5.6 million, which was $100,000 more than the asking price.

At 19 Fresh Pond Road, the nearly 4,000-square-foot residence has four bedrooms, four and a half bathrooms and an open floor plan.

The living room has glass walls offering views of Fresh Pond and Sag Harbor Bay, and the home boasts white oak floors, honed marble in the kitchen, honed bluestone countertops in the bathrooms, a custom circular staircase that leads to a third-level office with 360-degree views, according to the Corcoran listing.

There are two wood-burning fireplaces —one in the living room and one in the dining room — and roll-back doors open the kitchen and dining area to a bluestone terrace and lounge area.

The ground level is host to two suites, one which opens directly to the backyard, and on the second floor is another suite, which features a sitting room with a wet bar, a fireplace and a balcony with water views.

Two more en suite bedrooms and an additional sleeping nook round out the second floor.

Outdoors, the 1.2-acre lot features a heated gunite pool and cabana set apart from the house by a lawn and gardens.

“The property was very unique,” said associate broker Mala Sander, who represented the seller. “It is less than a mile to Sag Harbor Village, beautifully designed, and had spectacular views of the marshlands and the bay beyond. On top of all that, it is a great rental property and was very well priced for sale! There were multiple offers, above asking.”

The sale closed in December 2022, according to Suffolk Vision Inc., which reported the seller was Moises Esquenazi and the new owners are Henry and Kara Steinberg.
