An oceanfront estate in East Hampton recently sold for $31.5 million, making it one of the top sales on the South Fork of 2025.
A main house, a guest house, a pool and tennis and basketball courts are found on the 1.8 acres at 33 Lily Pond Lane, with 171 feet of shoreline on the Atlantic and double dune protection.
Approvals are also in place for an expansion of the residence to more than 10,000 square feet, according to Douglas Elliman.
The existing shingled residence built in the early 1970s and refreshed in 2023 was listed in 2017 for $75 million. After a three-year absence, it came back on the market in 2021 for $64 million. Three months later the price was reduced further to $55 million, according to Zillow. Price cuts continued: $49.5 million in 2022, $44.5 in 2023 and $39 million in May this year.
The buyer was Matthew Karch, co-founder of Saber Interactive, a video game developer and publisher.
Justin Agnello, Hara Kang and James Keogh of the Atlantic Team at Douglas Elliman represented both the buyer and seller. On the seller side, they co-listed the property with Elliman colleague Erica Grossman and Hedgerow Exclusive Properties.
