And they’re off! Well, more specifically, 53 Fordune Lane in Southampton is off—off the market, thanks to its recent purchase for a nice even $10 million by Eli Lomita and his wife, Alice Sim.

The south-of-the-highway manse is on a generous 3.27 acres and was built in 1997. The dwelling consists of almost 5,000 square feet and has 6 bedrooms and 4 baths. There is a fireplace inside and a pool outside. The new owners are only minutes from the horse farms that have sprung up in Bridgehampton and Water Mill the last few years.

Mr. Lomita and Ms. Sim are the proprietors of Kingfield Stables, which raises and trains horses for the championship racing circuit. As with similar operations, Kingfield has dreams of one day producing a Kentucky Derby winner. Jambalaya and Heat It Up are two of the company’s horses that have found the winner’s circle so far. In real estate circles, Mr. Lomita and Ms. Sim first appeared on the radar in the New York area in 2014 when they were two of the early birds who purchased (for a reported $8.9 million) apartments in the newly opened One57 building in Manhattan.

Happily for local real estate interests, the $10 million for the Fordune Drive property was not the biggest sale reported this past week in the Southampton area. That distinction belongs to 20 Wyandanch Lane LLC, the corporation which bought the property at that address in the village, for $11.5 million. The house, in excess of 10,000 square feet, sits on 1.9 lushly-landscaped acres, and contains 7 bedrooms and 9 baths. The living room has vaulted ceilings, there is a formal dining room with a fireplace, finished basement with game room, an exercise room, a large deck outside that overlooks both the pool and tennis court. Sorry, no room for horses.
