Sometimes the container is as important as the contents. That certainly was the case at LongHouse in East Hampton on Saturday, when planters were on parade, so to speak, for an invitational exhibition of contained gardens along with the bestowing of awards.
The People’s Choice Award, chosen by guests at the event, went to “Healing Chest” by Summerhill Landscapes, shown above. Marco Polo Stufano and Preston Phillips had been asked to judge the entries from artists, gardeners and landscape professionals, and to hand out awards.
“Planters: On + Off the Ground,” as it is called, will remain open through July 25.
