For just $100 a night, this luxurious tent in East Hampton Village can be yours! No, seriously, it can be. One enterprising homeowner is apparently renting out this rudimentary shelter in his or her backyard on Craigslist.
Perched on a lawn that appears not to have been watered in months, this tent, reportedly on Dayton Lane, is within walking distance to the village and the beach.
Lucky guests will be showered with amenities, such as the homeowner’s “ … grill, bathroom, cooler, 2 bikes, [a] locker at Main Beach with chairs, towels, umbrella, showers, bathrooms, snack bar.”
The ad also notes access to the Hamptons Free Ride shuttle, which totes people around town. This venture is probably illegal on many levels, but we still kind of admire the homeowner’s chutzpah—this is about as bare bones a rental as it can get, and it’s still pretty pricey. It just further proves that deals in the Hamptons are few and far between. Even renting a small, canvas tent in someone’s thirsty backyard is expensive!
