Dawn Watson of Serhant, in collaboration with fellow agents Lisa Oehler and Catherine Smyth, has formed the Hamptons Home Team.

Watson, the team principal, is one of the top 1 percent of licensed real estate professionals in the nation, according to RealTrends.com, and was the No. 1 Serhant agent in the Hamptons as ranked by sales transactions in 2024. The Eastport resident is a former newspaper and magazine editor, co-author of the children’s activity book “East End Fun & Games” and creator of the website Hamptons Party Girl.

Oehler, an entrepreneur, is the owner of the Hampton’s Consignment Shoppe retail site and Bohemian Bay Bungalow home decor and design online store. Additionally, the Remsenburg resident is co-author of the Facebook page A Mothers Love – Our Road To Recovery.

Smyth, a marketing and advertising specialist, brings three decades of sales expertise with her to the team. The former publishing executive resides in Sag Harbor and Long Beach.

Administrative assistants Vanessa Lee and Lillian Dempsey round out the team.

“Cathy, Lisa and I share the belief that our roles as agents should be about the highest degree of fiduciary care and responsibility,” Watson said. “Real estate is often one of the most important and largest financial decisions you can make, it can also be extremely emotional. That’s why we are here for our people every day and every step of the way.”

Hamptons Rental Market Remains Alive and Well

To paraphrase Mark Twain, reports of the demise of the Hamptons summer-rental market are greatly exaggerated. “Any hint that the Hamptons rental market is anything but robust is completely wrong,” said Corcoran associate broker Gary DePersia in East Hampton. An interesting dynamic is stirring in the Hamptons vacation-rental market. Although there has been an unprecedented rise in short-term rentals and the aftershocks of the COVID-19 pandemic linger, it has been a bumper crop year for Wall Street, interest rates have remained steady and a new breed of demanding customer is emerging. Despite it all, the Hamptons vacation-rental market remains as ... 19 Jun 2025 by Joseph Finora
