The Hamptons is one of the very few places in the world where this past week would be considered a “slow” one because the biggest deal reported was just over $5 million.
The disguised 280 Ferry Road LLC is the new owner of the 2.7-acre property at that address in North Haven. Within the 6,111-square-foot two-story traditional can be found 6 bedrooms and 6.5 baths, formal dining room, eat-in kitchen, library, hot tub and spa, and an office. The owner can earn a trip to the hot tub by using the tennis court, and of course there is a heated pool.
We’re advised by the folks at Corcoran that the house has been “completely reinvented and reimagined by David Scott of David Scott Interiors” and that “this dreamy, high-end estate offers the ultimate experience in stylish living.” Other amenities to persuade us to agree are a fireplace with Belgian marble, a wall of French doors in the double-height great room, an oversize formal dining room, two-car heated garage, and a gated entrance to the property. All this sold for a nice, round $5,368,131.
The big deal runner-up this past week is a ways to the west—10 Tanners Neck Lane, which now belongs to Robert L. Lawrence after he cut a check for $3,265,000. (In an election year, we’re reminded of “Tanner ’88,” the satire starring Michael Murphy that was created by Garry Trudeau and Robert Altman.) Most distinctive about this property in Westhampton is it’s rather large at 8.7 acres. The 4,594-square-foot, two-story post-modern has 5 bedrooms, 4.5 baths, a double-sided fireplace, chef’s kitchen, a formal dining room and hardwood floors. Right outside are a heated pool and tennis court. Another nice amenity is there are 180-degree vistas from every room, which can really come in handy if you like to turn around a lot.
