I am writing this letter to urge fellow residents to pressure the Sag Harbor Village Board to appeal the decision regarding the 23-foot-long dock at 8 John Street [“Judge Orders Sag Harbor Panel To Allow Dock In Creek After Having Rejected It,” 27east.com, July 18]. This State Supreme Court decision for the owners, against the determination of the Harbor Committee, is putting the desires of one party’s personal advantage ahead of the general good.
At some point the public interest must prevail.
