If you live on an alleged private road that the public is allowed to use, due to the town’s ownership of many public parcels on it: The town has its own documents stating that such use is allowed. We all, then, are required to pay taxes for the Town Highway Department.
The residents on these roads just don’t get any benefits of the work. No plowing in the winter if there is snow. No repairs unless out of their own pocket.
Quite an interesting predicament.
Still here.
