We are all so sad to hear of Sylvester & Co. closing [“The Changing Face of the Sag Harbor Retail Scene,” 27east.com, January 7]. A great shop and a great lady — good coffee, too.
Before Sylvester’s, it was Bohack’s food chain. I have a photo from the 1969 Old Whalers’ Parade, with me and Linda Giordano advertising his gallery, which opened in 1961 in Latham House. I have just closed the gallery after 64 years at the age of 86. The building was sold for $5,500,000. Wow!
