I can get married in my own house, or on the town green, or in a church, or in a motel lobby — why not in a historic church in Sag Harbor?
Could our local concerns get any more ridiculous than to oppose a wedding in a historic church in our town [“September Wedding, Other Church Events Occupy Sag Harbor Village Board,” 27east.com, August 9]? A church that has been beautifully renovated by two dedicated artists with nothing but the best intentions for Sag Harbor?
Whether two hearts are celebrating their love for one another or celebrating the joy of keeping alive our history and our architecture, we should applaud the fact that two young souls wish to solidify their commitment to the future in a space that has also been a commitment to the future — the future of our community.
