Pamela van Egmond Schilthuis Rossbach died peacefully in North Haven on December 10. She was 90.
An artist, educator and active Democrat, she loved Canio’s Books, the John Jermain Memorial Library and the arts community of Sag Harbor and her native New York City.
Born April 10, 1932, in Manhattan, she attended the Chapin School and Mount Holyoke.
Meeting her husband-to-be Laurence Bache Rossbach Jr. in Rome, she was married in 1954.
She was a sculptor, woodworker, weaver, ceramicist and painter. She designed a home overlooking Noyac Bay in 1974, to which many people knew they could come for good talk, a book club meeting or a rousing political discussion.
She is survived by her son Peter; daughter Janet; and two grandchildren, William and Nina.
A festival of joy be held at her home in Spring 2023 to celebrate her life.
