My husband and I have been full-time residents and registered voters in North Haven for 29 years. We raised our daughter here, built successful businesses here, and we chose to live in North Haven specifically because it is not commercial and is less populated than many other busy villages on the East End.
As you know, we have a contested mayoral election on June 21 and, we tuned in to the Zoom debate among the three candidates. The issues debated are real; the issues are far broader and more complex than North Haven can resolve alone, and the only voice of reason I heard from the candidates throughout the debate was that of Jack Reiser.
Jack did not engage in voicing accusations against his opponents; rather, he expressed rational views as to what is possible in a calm and articulate manner. Jack also has been a full-time resident of North Haven for many years, also raised a family here, and also built a successful business here.
Jack has an intimate and detailed understanding of the issues facing our bucolic little village and also knows the ins and outs of how to get things done when dealing with officials acting for Southampton Town, Suffolk County and New York State.
We live in a highly polarized world where ego battles, disrespect and lies seem to take center stage time and time again. North Haven has always been a village where peace and beauty provide a respite from the nasty politics so prevalent in our society today. North Haven needs a mayor who actually understands and respects our community and our voters.
My vote is for Jack.
