Scholar-Athletes

Pierson had eight, either its own teams or those where it sends athletes to, qualify as a New York State Public High School Athletic Association Scholar-Athlete Team this past fall. In order to qualify as a team, 75 percent of its average GPA for the season must be equal to or greater than 90 percent. Those teams included boys/girls cross country, Pierson/Bridgehampton/Ross boys golf, East Hampton/Pierson/Bridgehampton football, boys soccer, field hockey, East Hampton/Pierson/Bridgehampton girls swimming and Pierson/Bridgehampton girls volleyball.

According to head coach Kevin Barry, it’s only the second dual meet loss for the Tornadoes in the last five years. The Bonackers swept the top four placements to win the meet outright. Excitement Building Around Pierson/Bridgehampton Girls Volleyball Team This Fall

With a strong group of upperclassmen, including seniors Amy Fleming, Ava Lynch and Emily Tedesco and juniors Avery Austin, Veronica Denkewitz, C.J. Echavarria, Lucia Mogavero and Lily Remy, this season is looking to be an exciting one for the Pierson/Bridgehampton girls varsity volleyball team. Echavarria and Lynch are this year’s captains.
