Robin Schiavoni of Sag Harbor died on August 12. She was 55.
The daughter of Linda Matles Schiavoni and the late Paul Schiavoni, she was born in Sag Harbor on December 20, 1966.
She grew up in Sag Harbor and attended Pierson High School, and, after graduating in 1985, went on to study at SUNY Cortland and the Fashion Institute of Technology in Manhattan. After earning her teaching degree, she worked as a teacher’s assistant in the Sag Harbor School District for more than 20 years. She loved the staff she worked with and was a devoted teacher to the children, her family said.
She was kind, caring, loving and a beautiful woman with a huge smile and big heart, her family said. She could be seen every morning walking her dog while enjoying the peace of the village and the rising of the sun. She loved the beach and relaxing in the sun, always in search of the perfect tan.
Perhaps her greatest love was her son Christian. She was a wonderful mother who devoted her life and heart to him. Christian was the love of her life and Christian was lucky to have Robin as his mother.
In addition to her son, she is survived by her mother Linda; brother and sister-in-law Gregg and Kristen; nephews Cooper and Tucker; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Services were held at Yardley & Pino Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, a Scholarship Fund has been set up at Pierson High School. All donations should be sent to Linda Schiavoni at PO Box 96, Sag Harbor, NY 11963.
