Don’t know if anyone else has noticed this about Main Street. Why is it allowed for people to double- and triple-park in front of Sag Pizza, use the crosswalk as a parking space, back up for a space that has just been left, and cross the double-yellow line, in front of the “No U Turn” sign, to get to the other side?
The traffic control officers do little to nothing to prevent this. I have seen TCO officers walk in the opposite direction rather than hand out a ticket or tell the double-parked cars to move on.
Trying to navigate the Madison Street end of Main Street is at best a nightmare because of the illegally double-parked vehicles.
Several times, while walking down the alleyway from Route 114 to Main Street, there have been TCO officers behind the police station, sitting, standing, out of sight. Has anyone seen a ticket handed out?
It is apparent that the visitors here have the complete run of Main Street. Our police can only do so much, as they must answer calls and patrol other areas of the village.
Hoping there is a solution to this.
