Yom HaAtzmaut, the holiday marking the founding of the nation of Israel in 1948, will be observed from sunset on Wednesday, April 30, through nightfall on May 1.
To celebrate Israel’s 77th birthday, Temple Adas Israel in Sag Harbor is throwing a party on Sunday, May 4, from 3 to 5 p.m.
The community has been invited to what organizers say will be an immersive event, taking attendees on a virtual trip to Israel, highlighting several of its major cities and iconic sites. Guests will experience Israeli culture through sights, flavors, arts, and innovations, have conversations with Israelis, and have the opportunity to shop in a vibrant “shuk,” or marketplace, filled with unique goods and treats.
The celebration will also feature a catered Israeli dinner and dancing, offering a festive and welcoming atmosphere for all ages.
This event is open to the entire community, and sponsorship opportunities are available for those who wish to support the effort and help bring the spirit of Israel to Sag Harbor.
