The Right Stuff

As a resident, current member of the Board of Architectural Review, and former member of the Parks and Recreation Committee, I feel compelled to share my thoughts, concerns and perspective.

Terie Diat has been an exemplary trustee. She continues to bring full compassionate insight, commitment and integrity to the most pressing challenges that face our village today.

She had the courage to marshal the assessments to site a cell tower due to relentless public outcry. She did her best to evaluate a handful of viable options only to be inappropriately villainized by the NIMBY populous and cheap shots from colleagues. The cell tower remains the most controversial issue in North Haven since the culling of our deer population. She deserves praise, not criticism.

I have witnessed, firsthand, Terie’s efforts as a board member to better effectuate the intricacies of each board by streamlining the complexities to save time and money for all applicants. She has made enormous strides, and we should be grateful. She listens and responds. She possesses the “right stuff,” a measured executive functioning set of skills, a pragmatic and sensitive capacity to listen and respond, coupled with a good nature and good moral character, checking her ego at the door. She continues to serve “us” well and she deserves your vote.
