I am a resident of North Haven. I am writing to you to express my support for Terie Diat, who is running for reelection as a North Haven trustee.
I know Terie very well, both as a neighbor and fellow member of the board of North Haven Manor. She is extremely capable and trustworthy as our treasurer, and I have watched her navigate and mitigate with grace some somewhat contentious issues with both the board as well as the North Haven Manor community.
She has been a North Haven Village trustee since 2020 and has been able to accomplish quite a lot, especially for the preservation of our environment. She is a champion for better water quality and promoted local laws to protect wetland setbacks. In addition, she is a great communicator, initiating and writing a monthly newsletter, and fielding a communitywide electronic survey to help the board set a long-term strategic plan.
She is independent from the current mayor, brings a fresh perspective and is honest and transparent in her approach to both zoning issues and permitting processes.
We need Terie Diat to continue as a trustee, and she must be reelected for the sake of all North Haven residents.
