Astronomer To Talk About Mysteries Of Time and Place

Dr. David John Helfand, former president of Quest University Canada and past chair of Columbia University’s astronomy department, will give a lecture Tuesday, Aug. 19, at the East Hampton Library. The event, hosted by the Hamptons Observatory, begins at 7 p.m.

The Southampton History Museum will offer guided tours of the colonial-era Halsey House on Thursday, August 21, providing insight into life in 1640, when English settlers first landed at Conscience Point and encountered the Shinnecock people.
