A Bad Choice

Your Person of the Year [“The Southampton Press Eastern Edition Person Of The Year: Robert Chaloner,” 27east.com, December 28], along with Time magazine’s, are poor and thoughtless selections.

What about all the nurses, doctors, first responders and front-line workers who work tirelessly and directly with the patients? They are people of the year.

You should be ashamed of yourself. Leadership doesn’t warrant a “Person of the Year” status — putting your life at risk should.

If he built a new hospital that could accommodate the influx of people over the past 50 years, maybe I would think differently. I was born in that hospital 62 years ago, and it has not changed.

I’m sorry, you need to rethink your “People of the Year” selection.
