Magee Street is too far east for me to get emotional about [“Southampton Town Board Closes Hearing On Community Pool Proposal,” 27east.com, September 23], but I do have a question: If the residents of Southampton are truly starved for recreation, why not construct an extra gym and one or two pools on the grounds of the high school? That way the facility would be guaranteed at least some users (the students), and the drawbacks of a Tuckahoe site will have been avoided.
