A Correction

In this week’s Southampton Press Western Edition, the story on the Air National Guard guidance counselor orientation flights [“Gabreski ANG Base Offers Informational Helicopter Rides to High School Guidance Counselors,” 27east.com, March 20]: Senior Airman Adam Spinner’s statement about the 103rd was in reference to the 103rd Rescue Squadron at the 106th Rescue Wing (106th Operations Group), not the 103rd Airlift Wing in Connecticut. Why would SRA Spinner be based in Connecticut?

At the 106th Rescue Wing, there is the 106th Operations Group, 106th Maintenance Group, the 106th Support Group, the 106th Medical Group and the 106th Rescue Wing headquarters. Under the 106th Operations Group, there is the 101st Rescue Squadron-hh-60 helicopter squadron, the 102nd Rescue Squadron-hc-130j and the 103rd Rescue Squadron-combat rescue officers and pararescueman.

Maybe a correction or an article about the 106th Rescue Wing is due?
