The Hampton Bays Alliance held its 13th annual Family Fun Day and Rubber Duckie Race on September 6. Beautiful weather and a wonderful group of volunteers, donors and “duck owners” created a memorable event.

Thank you to the multi-tasking alliance members Maria Hults, Janice Landis, Stefani Joslin and Scott Bolster.

A big thank you to Quogue Wildlife Refuge, who brought a snake for youngsters to learn about, and also to Cornell Cooperative Extension, who brought its touch tank filled with sea creatures for youngsters to touch and learn about. Thank you also to Mary Garcia and her assistant Aiitana Garcia, for their face painting of so many adorable faces.

With deep appreciation, thank you to Alexa Foudy and her family, Susi Powell, Eleanor Hyland, Theresa Gioia, Cary Jankiewicz, Bob Ricke, Patti Hamill and Jonathan Lorber, for their tireless efforts in helping the event run smoothly.

And special a thank you to the “starting gate” Rumba launch crew, Lisa Crawford, Hampton Bays High School volunteers William Hurtle and Katherine Puglla, and Captain Bob and the Duckie Wranglers, dealing with difficult winds and tides, Jonathan Lorber, Kristen King, Mary Garcia and Alexa Foudy.
